The very first human being -Adam (puh) was a prophet of Allah , and through the ages Allah has continued sending prophets to eachand every community , so that none was left without guidance :- "And there is never been a community but a Warner has [lived and] passed away in its midst ."(Q.35:24) "And indeed , within every community have We raised up an apostle (entrusted with message );" worship Allah ,and shun the powers of evil! (Q.16:36) We however ,only know the names of a small number of them , including the 25 who are mentioned in the Qur'an :- 1)Adam [alaihissalam] 2)Idris ['alaihissalam] 3)Nuh ['alaihissalam] 4)Hud ['alaihissalam] 5)Salih ['alaihissalam] 6)Ibrahim ['alaihissalam] 7)Luth ['alaihissalam] 8)Isma'il ['alaihissalam] 9) Ishaq ['alaihissalam] 10) Ya'qub ['alaihissalam] 11)Yusuf ['alaihissalam] 12)Ayyub ['alaihissalam ] 13)Shu'aib ['alaihissalam] 14) Musa ['alaihissalam] 15)Harun ['alaihissalam] 16) Dzulkifli ['alaihissalam] 17) Dawud ['alaihissalam] 18) Sulaiman ['alaihissalam] 19) ilyas ['alaihissalam] 20) ilyasa ['alaihissalam] 21) Yunus ['alaihissalam] 22)Zakariyya ['alaihissalam] 23) Yahya ['alaihissalam] 24) 'Isa ['alaihissalam] 25) Muhammad salallaahu'alai hi wasallam (May Allah be pleased with them All) All of the prophets are equal in the eyes of Allah in terms of importance of their task , and the sincerity with which they carried it out.
